Introduction#

The Flyball Open World Cup is a biennial international tournament governed by the Fédération Cynologique Internationale (FCI). It brings together top flyball teams from around the world for a weekend of high-speed, precision relay racing. Dogs affiliated with FCI-recognized national organizations or closely associated bodies are eligible to compete.

The event spans two phases:

  • Saturday: Round Robin Speed Trials to determine rankings and divisions

  • Sunday: Double Elimination Tournament within assigned divisions

With up to 75 teams across three independently operating rings, the competition demands fairness, transparency, and real-time coordination.

The 2026 edition will be hosted by Cambridgeshire Flyball with support from the Royal Kennel Club (RKC) and the FCI. The event takes place in the United Kingdom on 30–31 May 2026.

About the iScribe Program#

Developed for UKFL and in use since 2019, iScribe is a digital results and scoring system designed to streamline ring-side operations and automate race data processing.

Loader#

  • Downloads divisional orders, race orders, and team details directly from the UKFL website

  • Can fully replace ring paperwork or operate alongside it for hybrid workflows

Data Entry System#

  • Used in the ring as a digital alternative to paper sheets

  • Mirrors traditional paperwork layout while storing results digitally

  • Automatically allocates dog points and win points after each heat

  • Calculates Division League Tables to determine team placements

Admin Panel#

  • Allows editing of results in case of data entry errors

  • Supports amendments to divisional orders, race orders, and team details

  • Exports all required files for website upload at the end of racing

Results Engine#

  • Automatically adjusts races for Breakouts, NFCs, and Tags—even retroactively

  • Reallocates heat wins/losses and points where needed

  • Determines team rankings based on heat wins, resolves ties, and identifies fastest times

Dog Awards#

  • Displays dog points earned

  • Highlights dogs reaching new award thresholds

Results Board#

  • Provides a live display of heat winners

  • Helps teams track how many heats are needed for divisional wins

  • Supports singles and pairs scoring based on clean runs rather than heat wins

FOWC 2026 iScribe#

The FOWC 2026 version of iScribe will take the lessons learned from the UKFL version to develop a new version to meet the needs of an FOWC event.

The documentation on this site outlines the architecture and logic behind race scheduling and results publication. Built to scale with the full scope of the event, the system ensures:

  • Fair and efficient scheduling across multiple rings and divisions

  • Allocates teams to double elimination divisions based on results of the sped trials

  • Generates the running order for each ring

Data Entry System#

  • Used in the ring to record race results

Admin Panel#

  • Allows editing of results in case of data entry errors

  • Supports amendments to divisional orders, race orders, and team details

  • Exports all required files for website upload at the end of racing

Results Engine#
